Public Speaking

Since the launch of A Will to Win in 2001, now republished as Another Alice, Alice has had ten years of public speaking experience. She presents moving and inspiring talks about what it means to live with RA from a patient perspective. Alice tells her story in a dynamic and original way, and always stresses the importance of family support too. That pain affects others is one of the most important lessons Alice has learned, and Another Alice is dedicated to her mother and father.

The majority of the talks Alice gives, in the UK and abroad, are to those within the medical community:

Rheumatologists
Nurses
Occupational Therapists
Physiotherapists
Pain Experts
Psychologists
Podiatrists
Medical students
Pharmaceutical companies

Alice spoke at the launch of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) in 2001 and has worked closely with them for many years. NRAS is the only patient-led charity in the UK that supports those with RA, their families and carers. Over the years they  have been a wonderful support, and Alice urges anyone who needs information or help to contact them.
